TOMMI KURKI
Mies on tuttu jo Pain Confessorin alkumetreiltä, tosin tiskin takaa, eli Tommi on toiminut Turmoil-ajoista lähtien kokolailla yhtämittaisesti vakimiksaajanamme. Täten yhteistyö on hitsautunut vuosien saatossa mutkattomaksi ja vaihdos mikserin takaa kitaran varteen oli osa luonnollista jatkumoa.Tommi ei ole Eilisen Teeren Poika™ kitaristinakaan. Itse asiassa Mr. Tommi "Tommi Kurki" Kurki eli Punatulkku on toimittanut kitaristin virkaa "tuottaja-ekstraordinaari" Janne Saksan aisaparina legendaarisessa progea ja metallisempaa ilmaisua työstäneessä Sancnity -soitinyhtyeessä, jonka lopputyönä ilmestyi loistava albumi Dew.
Musiikillisia polkuja on tallattu myös Sancnityn jälkilöylyissä Wooden Bone -rock/pop-yhtyeessä ja onhan mies ollut Rehtorikin. Eli koulut on käyty ja välivuosien jälkeen ollaan jälleen pahanteossa ja jälki-istunnossa.
Olemme ylpeitä saadessamme näinkin kovan parrun rakennusmateriaaliksemme, ja voimme huokaista huolet pois. Tämä lisänyrkki tuo lisää voimaa seuraavaan iskuumme yhteiskunnan kollektiiviseen ahteriin. Metakka ei kun kovenee ja tuskaa tungetaan jatkossakin sisään turvasta ja korvasta.

TOMMI KURKI
Mr. Tommi Kurki has been around since the first gigs of Pain Confessor. In fact, he has been our mainstay Sound Engineer for pretty much all these years. This made the transition from behind the mixer to the frontlines an easy one, and very natural.
He Wasn't Born Yesterday™ as a guitarist either. Tommi "Tommi Kurki" Kurki, or The Bullfinch as we like to call him, played guitar in the old Finnish progressive metal band Sancnity along with Pain Confessor producer Janne Saksa. Sancnity's swansong was their excellent early 90's album "Dew".A multitude of musical paths were ventured after that, a few to mention were as a guitarist in Wooden Bone (Sancnity reincarnate as a more pop/rock-esque band) and as the vocalist for the Finnish punk band Rehtorit.
We are proud to have such a rock-hard extra fist to smash into the collective behind of humanity. This will only make things worse for those against us and add even more spice for those who like what we dish out!
Welcome to Pain Confessor, Tommi! We have been waiting for you.

GUITARISTS pt.1
Tilanne on nyt tämä:
Pain Confessor yhtye jatkaa ilman kitaristi Vesa SäkkistäVuosi 2008 on vierähtänyt Pain Confessor-leirissä lepäilyn merkeissä. Olemme latailleet uutta virtaa kukin omalla tahollaan, toki välillä eksyttiin treenikämpille ja tuloksena ulostui uutta demomateriaalia parin kappaleen verran. Kipaleet julkaistiin tämän vuoden kesäkuussa sekä osoitteessa www.painconfessor.com että www.myspace.com/painconfessor.
Demon jälkeen yhtyeen lepotila jatkui. Leirissä heräsi tarve löytää uusi vaihde silmään ja eteenpäin mennäksemme totesimme, että meidän ja Vesa ”Wesleyer” Säkkisen yhteinen vaellus on tullut tiensä päähän. Halusimme saada porukan sydämiin sitä samaa tulta, joka syttyi vuonna 2002 kesällä, soitin- ja lauluorkesterimme perustamisen aikaan.
Mitään kummempia syitä on turha ruotia, koska se ei ole olennaista. Se taas on olennaista, että olemme kuin olemmekin edelleen joidenkin harmiksi hengissä. Koemme tehneemme oikean ja ennen kaikkea luovuuden ja kehityksen kannalta välttämättömän ratkaisun.
Tekemisen meininki on palannut pajalle ja tontut ovat takoneet rautaa ja peltiä metalliseen muottiin jo jokusen kappaleen verran. Uuden levyn valmistumisesta kauppojen hyllyille asti on vielä liian aikaista puhua. Se kuitenkin on varmaa, että kyllä se sieltä tulee. Sitä tässä itsekin kovasti ja innolla odotetaan.Uusi Kitaristi?
Hänet on valittu, vai valitsiko hän meidät? Oli miten oli, mutta kyseessä on erittäin kova punatulkku joka osaa sekä soittaa että laulaa. Yhtyeemme tunnetusti tiukat kriteerit täyttää myös komean parran ja raamiensa puolesta.
Tämän loppuun asti mysteerinä pidetyn kitaristin viralliset päähänpotkiaiset pidetään Pain Confessorin keikalla Perjantaina 21.11 Hämeenlinnan Rocktownissa klo 23 jälkeen, jolloin Mr. Punatulkku nousee kanssamme lauteille yhden biisin ajaksi. Keikalla toisen kitaran varressa nähdään hyvä ystävämme Turggusesta, Hateformissa ja Mors Principium Estissä vaikuttava Tomy Laisto.
Täältä tullaan ja tuutataan rojut torveen tulevalle vuodelle 2009.

Here's what's up:
Pain Confessor parts ways with guitarist Vesa SäkkinenThe year 2008 was all rest for everyone in the Pain Confessor camp. We've been recharging our batteries but of course found some time to record a couple of demo songs that were released in June on our homesite www.painconfessor.com and our myspace page www.myspace.com/painconfessor.
After the demo we fell back into slumber. The urge to move forward grew within us and we found ourselves in the situation where the only way to move on was to let Vesa ”Wesleyer” Säkkinen go. We longed for the same fire that burned within us in the summer of 2002 when Pain Confessor was originally conceived.
All further speculation is futile. What's important is that we are very much alive and feel that we made the correct decision in order to evolve and boost the creativity and inspiration within the band.
All systems are go, new material is in the works. Still, it is too early to talk about a new full length album as of now but we are excited about our new material. We guarantee a new album at some point.
New guitarist?
We have chosen a new guitarist already. Although his identity shall remain a mystery for a short while still we can say we are proud to have him join our ranks and can't wait to utilize his vocal abilities and skills as a guitarist.
Official announcement will happen at our concert Friday the 21st of November @ Rocktown, Hämeenlinna, FI. Our new member will make his first live appearance during the show. We also have a good friend from Hateform/Mors Principium Est, Tomy Laisto to play second guitar for the show.

STILL HERE. PERIOD.
YO YO YO!
Like we said, we really are still here and oh boy in what way!
Here are the 2 new songs we happened to record at our own little homemade studio, X9 and Reality of Now.
What makes this even more awesome for us is that we got Janne Saksa/Studio Sound Supreme to join our venture and he really made this work by mixing the whole thing and adding his own unique and special touch that we really have missed.
Enjoy! We do.

PAIN CONFESSOR
"The recording sessions of this demo of sorts was a cool new experience for us. We had never recorded and professionally mixed anything at our own rehearsal space so it was exciting to do it.
Make was probably the most eager of us to record the songs at this stage and he got us all riled up to the point where we just went for it. We borrowed a friend's digital recorder and started to bang in the drum tracks. It brought back lots of memories from our past, each of us having been part of a band that had recorded stuff before the digital revolution. You know, the 4- and 8-tracks, analog recording in studios as well.
So everything had to be a one good take and even more so with these songs having very few breaks to punch in from. It was damn fun, the feeling was like playing live and it should sound in there too. Bass, Keyboard and Guitar parts we also did at our rehearsal space. Stacking Wesleyer's Fireball, Mesa/Boogie cabinet and just plugged in with his Kramer.
In all honesty, the sound was awesome to begin with, better than we had dared to even hope for. Easy sound to play with, we just cranked it up and let the guitars wail. The bass of course worked nicely with Mikko's Mesa Big Block. And everything of course with one good take. All guitar leads luckily went in on the first take and to save the feeling and spontaneity I didn't even want to start honing them at all. Pasi finished the Studio Moldy Tangerine sessions with nailing his keyboard arrangements with the trusty old Korg.
For vocals we had a real treat. Reunited with our friend and producer/recording engineer Janne Saksa, we recorded all vocals during June 25. at our home away from home, Sound Supreme. Make was on fire, everything just fell into place and just being back at Sound Supreme really lifted our spirits to the highest levels.
Once the vocals were all done we left the last rites into Janne's hands. Good thing too, he mixed the whole damn thing in a few hours and mailed the results to us. I uploaded the songs to MySpace for You all to check out and on we ride!"

STILL HERE?
Yep, we are still here. Been a long time since we have had anything noteworthy going on to report here. So, what's up? What's happened during our silent existence?
Let's see.. Well, the Johanna Kustannus/Megamania deal was discontinued. Nothing really shocking there, that deal was coming to an end anyway so we embraced the departure as an opportunity to review our situation and rally our forces, forge new plans of attack and eventually strike with new found vigor when the time was right.We stole a good deal of personal time for ourselves and to do stuff with our families and friends, to rest and gather our thoughts until we felt the urge to get back in the saddle and grind out some tunes. That urge slowly took us by the balls and dragged us one by one back to our rehearsal space to get a feel for things. Suddenly we had a song recorded and damn it, that shit worked.
So here we are, writing stuff, playing metal and planning our next attack. When, where, with whom and by what means? You will see. And hear.

PURGATORY OF THE SECOND SUN EUROPEAN RELEASE
Plastic Head will release Pain Confessor´s third album Purgatory of the Second Sun in Europe. Release date is confirmed as 29. October 2007.

MARKKU KIVISTÖ LEAVES PAIN CONFESSOR
***APRIL'S FOOLS!***
Vocalist Markku Kivistö has made the decision to leave the Pain Confessor ranks in order to pursue his lifelong dream of taking part in the Finnish annual tango festival Seinäjoen Tangomarkkinat. He has always desired to use his vocal talent to bring depth and emotion to legendary tangos and what would be better way for him to do so than participate in the song contest that may well make him a crowned and certified Tango King.
The rest of the band stand by Make's decision although the lineup will most probably take a long break and may never return under Pain Confessor moniker. "Make knows what he is doing I think, and we have no reason not to give him a chance to chase his dream", guitarist Tuomas Kuusinen comments. "Of course the rest of us will have some adjusting to do but there seems to be an agreement among us that there is no point continuing as Pain Confessor. We will probably never find such a vocal talent and strong frontman so we may aswell call it quits."
Mikko Laihanen was unavailable for comments.

PURGATORY OF THE SECOND SUN TO BE RELEASED IN JAPAN
Wood Bell Records/Japan will release Pain Confessor's third album Purgatory of the Second Sun in Japan 8th of June 2007. This is the second Pain Confessor album to be released in Japan. Fearrage was released in May 2006. After the release Pain Confessor played 2 shows in Tokyo area.

This is a big step for us, it has been a rough ride and it feels somewhat... odd yet rewarding to see people support us in this manner!

NE PLUS ULTRA ENTERS FINNISH SINGLE CHART AT POLE POSITION!
Pain Confessor's single Ne Plus Ultra / Eye Of The Tiger has reached the much coveted Numero Uno position on Finnish single chart on it´s first week! What makes this especially heartwarming for us at PC camp is that this position was reached thanks to our fans without any of the business scheming, buying tons of our own records and none of other such bullshit.
We are so proud of once getting our name on the top spot, see our hard work matter and bear fruit even for a second. We are equally as proud to see and feel our label, friends and fans stay true to music and thus keeping the metal flag flying.

ONE OFF GIG BEFORE STUDIO
Pain Confessor will play a one off gig December 2nd @ Länkkäri, Vantaa, Finland before entering Fantom Studio to record Purgatory of the Second Sun. Studio session will begin mid-December and end around January 07. A single will be released in February and full album early March.
During the 17. -19.11. weekend a demo of album songs was recorded at Pain Confessor HQ and we will probably put a few clips and pics on the site for you to check out.

Last night's gig was our last live show for a while. It was fun as always and as it was our last set for some time we decided to play a good bunch of songs, 100% full steam and pretty much the hardest tunes in our arsenal as well as a cover of At the gates song Cold and our first and probably last live rendition of DNA of a god. THIRD TIME IS WAR
Here we go again. It's time for the good old "write song, play it to death, record it and let others decide for themselves the worth of the end product"- cycle. That's right, Pain Confessor album number 3 is on it's way. With titles like Dreamcrusher, Second Sun, Without Redemption - Without Remorse, Ne Plus Ultra, the forthcoming album will be the heaviest and most brutal Pain Confessor album yet.
According to current gameplan the album will be recorded during the end of 2006/early 2007 @ Fantom Studios by Samu Oittinen. Release is planned for March 2007.
